Dear Vintage enthusiast

You can still join us for the original Garden of Ireland Run.

We start on Saturday 29th on Bray seafront at the Espanade Hotel, registration from 9.30am leaving at 10.30 am.

You can register on the day or send on registration to be included in our booklet & receive an individual memento of the run.

Also our Dinner Dance is open to all, so if your car needs a little t.l.c. & won’t make the run you can still join us for a great evening in the Woodenbridge Hotel.

The Annual Garden of Ireland Run will take place on the 29th and 30th September 2012.

This weekend will commence on Friday 28th with music, song and laughter in The Grove Bar, Delgany, finger food will also be supplied and to add comfort to your weekend, transport will be provided from the Hotel to this venue which is a mere 15 minutes away. Special arrangements have been made with the Glenview Hotel. The cost of overnight accommodation is €100 per room [double] including breakfast for each of the nights over the weekend. The run will depart from the Glenview Hotel on Saturday morning at approximately 11am [complimentary tea, coffee and scones will be supplied prior to departure] The route will take us through some of Wicklow’s most spectacular scenery before returning to the Grove Bar for complimentary tea and biscuits. We will then return to the Hotel where our Dinner Dance will commence at 8.30pm with music supplied by one of Co Wicklow’s finest bands. The Brendan Kennedy Band.

On Sunday morning we will take a leisurely run finishing off the weekend with a BBQ at Killruddery House & Gardens, one of the most successful Elizabethan-Revival mansions in Ireland. See www.killruddery.com BBQ cost will be approx. €10 per head

We have, due to the current economic climate, tried to keep our costs to a minimum with €15 per car and €30 per person for the dinner dance.

Please return the completed entry form to me as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment. If you know someone else who wishes to participate in the run feel free to photocopy the registration form.

THIS YEARS NATIONAL PLOUGHING TAKES PLACE THIS YEAR NEAR NEW ROSS CO. WEXFORD ON THE 25th,26th and the27th OF SEPTEMBER (THIS WEEK)  . BOTH THE “IRISH VINTAGE SOCIETY” AND THE “IRISH VINTAGE ENGINE AND TRACTOR ASSOCIATION ” WILL HAVE LARGE DISPLAYS AND THE “IRISH VINTAGE SCENE ” WILL HAVE THEIR OWN STAND WITH  THE TRACTOR BUILD CHALLENGE RUNNING AT THE STAND. ALL WELL WORTH A LOOK.

I AM STILL WAITING FOR A FEW CARS TO BE ON DISPLAY AT THIS SHOW AS THE CAR WAS NOT JUST FOR SUNDAY MASS ,BUT  IT WAS ALSO A EARLY WORK HORSE OF IRISH FARMING IN THE 60’S 70’S AND EVEN THE 80’S ,DRAWING NUTS, CHURNS AND ANIMALS TO THE MART BEFORE THE 4X4 JEEPS ARRIVED

THE LAST LEG OF THIS YEARS CANNON BALL RUN ENDS IN KILKENNY CITY ON THE PARADE THIS SUNDAY AT 4.30

Cannonball Ireland is the annual gathering of supercar enthusiasts who drive in convoy on an adventurous and picturesque road trip around Ireland, raising funds for charity.

Cannnonball 2012: 14th – 16th of September

Good fun for a good cause, four-wheeled masterpieces and their roaring melody is what it is all about. The most prestigious and unique cars of the world will be parading through the breathtaking landscapes and charming cities and towns of the 2012 route; making this the most memorable motorised masquerade you have ever seen.
