Vintage Car
My name is Anne-Marie Cooper and I am a member of Newbawn Parish Committee.  We are a small community located about ten miles from New Ross Co. Wexford.  We are currently running a fundraiser which your members may be interested in.

Our parish priest Fr. Jim Furlong has very kindly donated a 1937 Baby Ford to the committee to raise much needed funds for projects around the parish.  Tickets are priced at €10.00 each or a book of six for €50.00.  (photo attached)

I would be very grateful if you could inform your members of this once of opportunity to win this car at your next meeting.

Should you have interest I can either post tickets up to your or I can meet you at a location convenient to you.

Many thanks for your time in this matter.

Kind Regards

Anne-Marie Cooper

Hi, my name is Emma Naughton-Heavey. I am seventeen years old, and live in Moyvilla, Oranmore, Co. Galway, on the west coast of Ireland. I live with my parents, my sister, Katie and brothers, Jack and Tommy. I am the eldest in the family.

All our lives were turned upside down earlier this year when I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinorma, or Fibrolamellar for short. This cancer only affects one in five-million people, and there are less than 200 new cases diagnosed each year; you can read the full story here on my website. I have set up this site for two reasons, the first being to keep all my friends and well-wishers updated with regular news, so please check in occasionally or like my Facebook page. The second is to help raise funds towards my treatment.I am currently travelling to and from the USA for treatment, where we have to pay for everything as our family health insurance, like most, does not cover medical costs there.

I really appreciate all the help, prayers, support and good wishes I have received to date. However I have a long way to go, so your future support is needed, and for that I thank you in advance.

NEW METHOD TO RENEW DRIVING LICENCE

October 28th, 2013

Filed Under: News with 0 Comments

What is the NDLS?

NDLS CentreNational Driver Licence Service or NDLS, is the name given to the new, dedicated service which will receive applications for learner permits and driver licences

Since January 2013 The Road Safety Authority has been tasked with delivering the driving licence and learner permit service. Security and safety are at the heart of the new service which will be delivered consistently throughout the country. Since the move from paper to plastic card, learner permits and licences are more secure, long-lasting and convenient. Now we’re adding another layer of security to make sure that the only person who uses your licence is you. This will help to keep unlicensed, illegal drivers off our roads.

From Tuesday 29th October 2013, instead of applying for a licence or learner permit in your local motor tax office you will need to apply in person at one of the new National Driver Licence Service NDLS centres located around the country

What is changing?

From 29 October 2013, when applying for either a new or replacement learner permit or driver licence, you will need to visit one of the new National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) centres nationwide. This service is being transferred from the Local Authority Motor Tax Offices.Security and safety is at the heart of the new National Driver Licence Service. Since the move from paper to plastic card, learner permits and licences are
more secure, long-lasting and convenient. Now we’re adding another layer of security to make sure that the only person who uses your licence is you. This will help to keep unlicensed, illegal drivers off our roads.

The new National Driver Licence Service will have:

  • At least one centre in every county in Ireland – and you can apply for your licence in any one of the centres nationwide.
  • More flexible and convenient opening times, including lunchtime opening and weekend opening hours to facilitate customers who may not be able to apply for their licence during normal working hours.
  • A security validation process for new customers which in most cases you will only need to do once, to make your learner permit or driving licence more secure and less susceptible to fraud.

Will the application process change?

Yes. This is because a new ‘face to face’ application process is being introduced which will help

to increase the level of security around the driving licence, combat fraud and

keep unlicensed drivers off our roads.

Therefore you need to apply in person at any one of the NDLS centres nationwide

in order to complete the ‘face to face’ security validation process.

However, by early 2014, a facility will be in place where customers can apply

for their licence by contacting the NDLS Customer
Service Team by phone and providing supporting documentationby post if required.

This facility will only be available to who have already completed the identity

verification process during a face to face meeting in an NDLS centre on or after 29 October 2013.

RED VAUXHALL WANTED FOR TV

October 23rd, 2013

Filed Under: News with 0 Comments

Hi David,

Further to our chat, I am trying to get hold of a red Vauxhall Cavalier that would have been on our roads in 1989. We are looking to use it in some forthcoming filming. If you knew of anyone that might be able to help, please feel free to forward on my details.
