A NEWLY FORMED HIGH NELLY CLUB KNOW AS  “THE  FLYING COLUMN”  WILL HAVE ITS FIRST OFFICIAL  OUTING  AT THIS YEARS WELLIE RACE IN CASTLECOMER THIS NEW YEARS DAY

 

THE CLUB WHICH MEETS ONCE A WEEK FOR TRAINING IS NAMES AFTER THE FLYING COLUMNS THAT WERE PART OF THE “WAR OF INDEPENDENCE”. MEMBERS WEAR THE UNIFORM OF A TRENCH COAT ,FLAT CAP OR A HAT ,BANDOLIER, IMITATION  RIFLE OR REVOLVER  AND A SAM BROWN BELT.

MEMBERS ORIGINALLY GOT  TOGETHER  IN 2009 WHEN THEY CYCLED TO THE ALL IRELAND ON THEIR HIGH NELLYS FOR CHARITY ANG HOPE TO KEEP RAISING FUNDS FOR LOCAL CHARITIES AS WELL AS HAVING A BIT OF FUN AND KEEPING FIT

ALL YOU NEED IS A HIGH NELLY TO JOIN THE CLUB AND IT CAN BE IN ANY CONDITION AS LONG AS IT IS SAFE TO GO ON THE ROAD
