THE 2012 THREE SISTERS 100-mile CHALLENGE
CLASSIC CAR BONANZA
Now in its third year and has now become the most prestigious event in the south-east. Last year it was the Mount Leinster Challenge and what an event that was with over 140 spectacular cars on display in New Ross Town Park and 200 cars on the 100-mile run.
Now wait for this year’s event. On Saturday 7th April on New Ross Quays there will be an outstanding display of vintage and veteran cars, classics, saloons and sports cars and the latest super cars like TVR, Ferraris and Porsches. Also a magnificent line-up of classic rally cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s. There will be music, trade stands and general fun for all the family. Open from 12.00 noon on the magnificent quayside in New Ross with the backdrop of the river and the Dunbrody Famine Ship. Admission Free. Supported by New Ross Town Council.
Sunday 8th April – The Three Sisters Challenge Run. Starting from Corcorans Pub in Irishtown, New Ross the route will take us through some spectacular scenery and great roads to test your driving ability. For the motor sport enthusiast it will take in many of the old hill climb sections that in the past were run by the Carrick-on-Suir and Wexford Motor Clubs. The cavalcade will then head for the brilliant setting of Mount Juliet Golf Club where there will be a short stop for re-grouping. From there we will head towards Gowran Park Race Course and Golf Club for lunch and some driving surprises. Then the final stage on some great roads heading back to New Ross for prize giving, food and street party at Corcorans Pub.
