Below are photos of a thrashing last August on the farm of Phil and Maureen, Great Oak, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
Eight acres of oaten straw was cut using a 1939 Albion reaper and binder and a 1963 Fordson Dexta tractor.
Also used on the day was a 1985 Case. The straw will be used to thatch their farmhouse next spring.
