The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club are coming to Kilkenny this Sunday 22nd and are staying in Lyrath Hotel.
They will be staying in the Kilkenny area until Friday the 27th. There are 45 cars coming . They will be in Kilkenny Castle from 10.00 am on Monday 23rd. Any one wishing view the cars at the castle on Monday morning are most welcome. The club will be in the Kilkenny Area till Friday
The Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club was formed in 1984, for the enthusiast who not only used , but maintained or restored their SS, Daimler or Jaguar. Their aim is to assist such enthusiasts in a friendly and informal manner, to keep their cars on the road with the minimum of cost.
Travel Destinations have been the official tour operator of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club for more than 7 years, working alongside board member and Tours & Runs Co-ordinator Simon Cronin to produce a varied programme throughout Europe and beyond.
2011 is another eventful year for the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club. Of particular significance will be the celebration of 50 years of the Jaguar E-Type, which will include a special European gathering for all Jaguars at the Oldtimers Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Kilkenny
22nd – 27th May
The historic city of Kilkenny provides the perfect backdrop for our Ireland tour. With a medieval castle at its heart the county town provides the ideal base from which to explore the rural South-East of Ireland. Discover the relaxing rhythm of Irish life as you meander through the green country lanes of Kilkenny, Wicklow and Tipperary. From our luxurious hotel at the Lyrath Estate you will be able to explore rolling hills and historic monuments, art and crafts and picturesque gardens all along ideal roads for Jaguar driving.
Itinerary:
Sunday 22nd May
Depart Holyhead for Dublin on the Irish Ferries Dublin Swift fast ferry service at midday. From Dublin port drive to the elegant Lyrath Estate hotel just outside Kilkenny. A welcome barbecue has been arranged on the hotel terrace for the evening.
Monday 23rd May
Begin the tour with something special as we gather all the participating cars in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle. Not only will this provide a fantastic photo opportunity but from here you will be able to spend the morning touring the castle or exploring the city streets on foot. In the afternoon a touring route around the county provides opportunities to visit a number of local art and crafts workshops as well as the restored gardens and arboretum at Woodstock.
Tuesday 24th May
A circular road run has been organised taking in the historic monuments of Tipperary. The ruined hilltop abbey at Cashel and the riverside castle at Cahir will be highlights on this leisurely driving route.
Wednesday 25th May
A further circular road run is provided exploring the hills of County Wicklow. With fields, hills and rivers creating a typical Irish landscape you will be able to lose yourself amongst the farms and villages on route. A tour dinner with traditional Irish music has been organised at the hotel of this evening.
Thursday 26th May
You may wish to spend the day at the hotel, relaxing in the spa, or wandering the extensive estate; Alternatively you may prefer a short drive to Dunmore Cave or the Castlecomer Discovery Park are worthwhile.
Friday 27th May
Our stay in Kilkenny comes to an end, so after breakfast we return back to the port in Dublin for our return crossing to Holyhead at 14.30hrs.
